Eat The Street: For Japan

Ets3-poster-for-web-v4
This month's Eat The Street event is dedicated to those affected by the tragedies in Japan. To show their aloha from the foodie community, the Street Grindz crew will be taking special donations for the Hawaii Chapter of the American Red Cross. Funds col;ected during the event will go directly to Japan earthquake/tsunami relief efforts.

Along with this, Eat The Street will feature more of the great food trucks found around the island. Last month's event generated quite the turnout, so this month's should be no exception.

This all goes down this Thursday at 555 South St. (the same location as last month). Event goes from 5p-9p, but definitely get there early in order to get the best selection, plus a shorter wait on line.

Fitted Hawaii Accessories x SF Giants

New in the Fitted Hawaii shop are some new things to spy: a new ASD keychain, some slippers (an essential for the upcoming Summer session) and a new New Era performance cap of the WORLD CHAMPS (still can't believe I can say/type that out).

Performance, you ask? Well, this one features New Era's new "Cool Base" technology. If you're a fan of Nike or Under Armour's sweat/moisture wicking athletic gear, then this hat should be up your alley. It's moisture wicking, quick drying, and shrink resistant, all properties you would desire from your hat.

Plus, the black/gold color scheme is quite eye-catching.

You can find all three items at the Kona St. headquarters. The Fitted accessories are also available from their online shop.

FITTED SK8 Pack

Watch out now! The Fitted Ohana let the Skate team loose on a set of PRIDE New Eras... and this is the result.

Each member got a chance to go into the lab and come up with their own color scheme for the PRIDE New Era, each one coming out really nice:

- Danny Hamaguchi goes all Halloween/Phoenix Suns with his black/orange/purple/green combo.

- Tim Jackson goes KC Royals with the Royal/Carolina Blue come up. Yellow New Era logo and grey bill and button top it off.

- Chris MF'N Kays goes all Lakers/Vikings with the Purp and Yellow.

- Matt Chaffin comes correct with the San Jose Sharks inspired black/turquoise/mint combo.

Each hat is limited to 40 pieces each, so make sure you get yours ASAP.

Also releasing is the new "Greetings From FIST CITY" graphic featuring iconic imagery of Hawaii inset in the logo.

Both pieces release this Saturday at the Kona St. headquarters. For more info, check out www.fittedhawaii.com

Seoul Power - ArtAfterDark March

Screen_shot_2011-03-23_at_9
This month's ArtAfterDark focuses on the city named the World's Design Capital.

There's going to be a Korean dance performance from the Halla Pai Studio, the Hawaii Korean Ensemble playing Korean court banquet music, folk songs, and contemporary pieces.

If that's not your speed, Slant and Kevin Tsujiwill be playing K-Pop hits and a Karaoke session will break out at the Banyan Courtyard.

Of course, there's also a Taekwon-do exhibition from Taekwon-do Center Honolulu.

If all that song, dance, and movement is getting you dizzy, then find solace in gallery 14 with the Masterpieces of Korean Art and Town/DownTown serving up their version of Korean food and soju.

This all goes down this 6pm Friday night at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. $10 gets you in the door.
